Amount of Travel Required:   Minimal

                               7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

     weekends as determined by the needs of the agency   

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of The Arc of Hilo’s Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the position’s Supervisor, this position is responsible for assisting the agency’s Managers of all departments in the overall clerical duties of the various departments.  This position performs daily duties that include but are not limited to: filing, copying, collating, data input, preparation of materials for presentations, typing, telephone answering, etc.  This position is responsible for maintaining the agency reception area and front office operations and environment to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and clients, and assist in efficient operations for the agency.

Minimum Qualifications

1.         High school diploma or GED

2.         Combination of experience and education that would provide the required knowledge and abilities to carry

       out the duties of the position

3.         Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to deal effectively with a variety of people

       in the workplace and the community

4.         Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines

5.         Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of office machines including a fax machine, calculator, and

       photocopier; computer experience in Windows, Word, and Excel

Other Requirements

Must be able to maintain an acceptable criminal abstract from the State of Hawaii, as determined by the agency; Must be able to maintain Protective Services Central Registry clearances from Adult Protective Services (APS) Central Registry and Child Welfare Services (CWS) Central Registry; Must maintain CPR and First Aid Certificates; Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and maintain annually a current TB clearance; Must have a current/valid driver’s license
